PDD Employees Seek Extension of 200 Units Electricity Rebate in J&K
Srinagar, May 7: (JKNN) The Jammu & Kashmir Power Employees Coordination Committee (JKPECC) has strongly urged the Government to extend the benefit of a 200-unit electricity rebate to the employees of the Power Development Department (PDD), calling it a genuine and long-pending demand.
In a statement issued here, JKPECC said that PDD employees have been rendering dedicated and tireless services under all circumstances, working round the clock to ensure uninterrupted power supply and promptly address public grievances across the Union Territory.
The Committee stated that the contribution of PDD employees remains crucial in sustaining and strengthening the power sector in Jammu & Kashmir, especially during harsh weather conditions, emergencies, and peak demand periods.
Despite repeated representations made by the employees and the coordination committee, the demand has not been addressed so far, the statement said.
JKPECC once again highlighted the issue and appealed to the Government for its immediate consideration in the interest of employee welfare.
“The Government should acknowledge the invaluable contribution and sacrifices of PDD employees and take necessary steps at the earliest to extend the 200-unit electricity rebate benefit to them,” the Committee added.
