ARTO Kishtwar Cracks Down on Traffic Violators, 7 Driving Licences Disqualified
Kishtwar, May 09 (KNC): In a major enforcement drive aimed at improving road safety and curbing traffic violations, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Kishtwar, Tasleem Wani, has disqualified seven driving licences of motorists involved in serious breaches of traffic rules.
Officials said the action was taken under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma and in compliance with the directions of Transport Commissioner J&K Vishesh Paul Mahajan to strengthen enforcement measures and ensure safer roads across the district.
The motorists were found involved in offences including overloading, dangerous driving, use of mobile phones while driving, drunk driving, and other violations under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
The driving licences disqualified include those of Mohd Hanief of Tipri Banoon, Mohd Rafi of Sheikh Pura Drubeel, Manzoor Ahmed of Gundna Doda, Shamim Ahmed of Thathri Doda, Swami Raj of Tagood Chatroo, Suraj Singh Thakur of Lolna Palmar Kishtwar, and Shanawaz Ahmed Khan of Khan Pura Dhadpath Chatroo.
ARTO Kishtwar stated that the Motor Vehicles Department will continue its strict action against violators to ensure public safety and reduce accidents in the district. Commuters and drivers have been urged to follow traffic regulations strictly and cooperate in maintaining road discipline.(KNC)
