Srinagar, July 4: (JKNN) Nearly 100 households in Iqra Colony, News colony Batamaloo Srinagar , are facing a severe drinking water crisis, with residents alleging that they have either no piped water supply or that the installed pipelines have remained dry for a prolonged period.
With taps running dry, the entire locality has been forced to depend on water tankers to meet its daily drinking and household needs.
Residents said the shortage has made everyday life extremely difficult, especially for children, elderly people, and women, who are bearing the brunt of the crisis.
The affected families appealed to the Municipal Commissioner Srinagar and the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department to intervene immediately and ensure a regular supply of safe drinking water to the colony.
“We are only asking for a basic necessity. Water is our fundamental need, and we urge the authorities to come to our rescue at the earliest,” the residents said.
