Govt Approves Two Unity Malls for J&K at Rs 255 Crore
One Each In Srinagar And Jammu To Promote Local artisans, Tourism And Trade: Omar Abdullah
Srinagar, July 22 (GNS): The Government has approved the construction of two Unity Malls in Jammu and Kashmir at a cumulative cost of ₹255 crore, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on his official X handle.
According to the Chief Minister, one Unity Mall will come up each in Srinagar and Jammu.
The projects are aimed at providing a dedicated platform for local artisans, handloom and handicraft products, GI-tagged goods and regional entrepreneurs.
Officials said the landmark malls will create vibrant commercial spaces to promote tourism, trade and employment across Jammu and Kashmir.
The initiative is expected to give a major boost to the UT’s traditional crafts sector while offering visitors a one-stop destination for authentic J&K products. (GNS)
