Labourer Dies After Fall From Under-Construction House in Srinagar Outskirts

Srinagar, June 9, KNT: A 38-year-old labourer died after falling from an under-construction house in the Habbak area of Srinagar outskirts on Monday, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Kathoo, son of Ghulam Nabi Kathoo, a resident of Khawaja Bagh, Tailbal.
According to information available, Tariq was engaged in construction work at an under-construction residential building in Habbak when he allegedly fell from a height and sustained critical injuries.
Family members said the labourer was immediately shifted for medical treatment following the accident. However, he succumbed to his injuries before he could be saved.
Doctors at Primary Health Centre Hazratbal declared him dead on arrival.
Subsequently, a police party shifted the body to SMHS Hospital for necessary medico-legal and radiological examinations.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal fall. [KNT]
