Traffic Update : Jammu–Srinagar Highway Remains Blocked Amid Shooting Stones
Srinagar, April 06: (JKNN) The Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) continues to remain blocked between Karol Bridge and Chander Kot due to ongoing clearance operations and persistent shooting stones, officials said on Monday morning.
Authorities stated that while restoration work is underway, continuous falling stones have significantly hampered progress, posing risks to both workers and commuters.
As a precautionary measure, no vehicular movement has been permitted from Jammu towards Ramban, Banihal, or Srinagar, and vice versa, until the highway is fully restored and declared safe for travel.
Commuters and the general public are strongly advised to plan their journeys accordingly and avoid unnecessary travel on this route. Officials have also urged people not to pay heed to rumors and instead rely only on official updates.
