Power Shutdown by KPDCL Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), has announced scheduled power shutdowns across several areas
Srinagar, Aug 9: (JKNN) The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), has announced scheduled power shutdowns across several areas of Handwara, Srinagar and Budgam during August due to maintenance works on various 33 kV and 11 kV power lines.
According to the KPDCL, the shutdown of the 33 kV Arampora–Handwara Old Line will affect power supply to Handwara Town, Marathgam, Kulangam, Kandi, Chogal, Sagipora and adjoining areas from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on August 10 and 13, 2026.
Similarly, the shutdown of the 33 kV JVC/PC Depot Line will affect Boatman Colony, Bemina JVC Hospital, Children Hospital, State Motor Garage, Hajj House, Forensic Science Laboratory, PC Depot, Qamarwari, Barthana and adjoining areas from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on August 11, 2026.
KPDCL further stated that the shutdown of the same 33 kV JVC/PC Depot Line will also affect Boatman Colony, Bemina JVC Hospital, Children Hospital, State Motor Garage, Hajj House, Forensic Science Laboratory, PC Depot, Qamarwari, Barthana, SRTC, the under-construction High Court, Director Health Services and adjoining areas from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on August 22 and 25, 2026.
In Budgam district, the shutdown of the 33 kV Shariefabad–Wadwan Line will affect Shariefabad, Durbal, Hanjik, Soibugh, Haran, Bonpora, Astanpora, Wadwan, Hanjikpora, Dharmuna, Russu, Gotpora, Pymus and adjoining areas from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on August 26 and 30, 2026.
Additionally, the shutdown of the 11 kV Durbal Feeder will affect Durbal, Hanjik, Shareefabad and adjoining areas from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on August 27, 2026.
KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements during the shutdown period and has regretted the inconvenience caused due to the scheduled maintenance works.
