Sopore Police Announce Cash Reward for Information on Absconding Drug Accused

Sopore, May 5, KNT: Police in Sopore on Tuesday announced a cash reward of ₹10,000 for information leading to the arrest of an accused evading arrest in a narcotics case, officials said.
According to a hue and cry notice issued by the Station House Officer of Police Station Sopore, the absconding accused has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Mir alias Ashu, son of Farooq Ahmad Mir.
Police said the 32-year-old is a domicile of Jamia Qadeem and is presently residing at Krankshivan Colony in Sopore.
He is wanted in connection with FIR No. 23/2026 registered under Sections 8, 22 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Sopore.
The notice describes the accused as having a fair complexion, a strong body build, a height of approximately 5 feet 6 inches, black hair, and the ability to speak Urdu and Kashmiri.
Officials said action under Sections 84 and 85 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) is being initiated against the accused.
Police said any person providing credible information leading to his arrest will be rewarded with ₹10,000. [KNT]
