PM Modi Urges Parties to Ensure Early Implementation of 33% Women’s Reservation
Free Online Coaching for Competitive Exams; One Crore Youth to Receive AI Training
New Delhi, August 17 (KNC): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon all political parties to rise above political differences and work together for the early implementation of 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies.
Addressing the nation from the Red Fort on Independence Day, the Prime Minister said the issue of women’s political representation should not become a source of confrontation and urged political parties to ensure that women receive their rightful representation in the country’s legislative institutions.
Modi stressed that greater participation of women in Parliament and State Assemblies would strengthen their role in policy-making, governance and nation-building.
He said the demand for increased political representation of women had remained caught in political differences for decades and appealed to all parties to help fulfil the long-pending objective.
The Prime Minister called upon political leaders to come together and ensure that mothers and sisters receive 33 per cent representation in the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies at the earliest.
Free Online Coaching for Competitive Examinations
During his address, Modi also announced a major initiative aimed at supporting students and youth preparing for competitive examinations.
He said the Government would provide free online coaching for various competitive examinations, particularly benefiting students from poor and middle-class families who face financial difficulties in accessing quality coaching.
The Prime Minister highlighted India’s strong digital public infrastructure, technological capabilities and pool of talented teachers, saying these resources could be integrated to establish a nationwide online coaching network.
One Crore Youth to Get AI Training
Modi further announced that one crore young people will receive training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills over the next year.
Emphasising the growing importance of emerging technologies, he said India must equip its youth with advanced skills to meet the changing requirements of the employment market and strengthen the country’s position in the global technology sector.
Push for Defence Manufacturing and Self-Reliance
The Prime Minister also underlined the Government’s focus on making India a global hub for defence manufacturing and achieving greater self-reliance in advanced defence technologies.
He highlighted the importance of indigenous capabilities in areas such as hypersonic technology and drones, while stating that work on the Sudarshan Chakra air defence system is progressing rapidly.
Modi also stressed the need to strengthen civil defence infrastructure and improve the country’s preparedness to deal with emerging security challenges.
Semiconductor Sector Gets Major Boost
Highlighting India’s progress in advanced manufacturing, the Prime Minister said three semiconductor plants have already commenced production, while another five to eight plants are expected to be established in the coming years.
He described semiconductor manufacturing as a crucial component of India’s drive towards technological self-reliance, economic growth and global competitiveness.
India Eyes 2036 Olympic Games
Modi also reiterated India’s ambition to host the 2036 Olympic Games, describing the country as a strong contender for the prestigious global sporting event.
He announced a nationwide talent identification programme for children aged 5 to 15 years to identify promising young athletes and nurture sporting talent from an early age.
The Government, he said, aims to expand India’s participation across Olympic disciplines and provide talented athletes with specialised training and facilities to compete successfully at the international level.
Vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047
The Prime Minister once again called for collective efforts towards building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
He urged citizens, particularly the country’s youth, to play a decisive role in driving development, innovation, self-reliance and national progress, while positioning India as a stronger and more influential nation on the global stage.(KNC)
