NEET (UG) 2026 Cancelled; Fresh Examination to Be Conducted: NTA
New Delhi, May 12: (JKNN) The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the cancellation of the NEET (UG) 2026 examination that was conducted on May 3, 2026, citing concerns raised during the verification process and findings shared by central law enforcement agencies.
In a fresh statement issued on Tuesday, NTA said that the decision was taken with the approval of the Government of India after inputs examined in coordination with central agencies indicated that the integrity of the examination process had been compromised.
The agency stated that it had earlier, on May 8, referred the matter to central agencies for independent verification and necessary action to uphold transparency, fairness, and credibility in national-level examinations.
“On the basis of the investigative findings and inputs received, the present examination process could not be allowed to stand,” the statement said.
NTA further informed candidates and parents that the NEET (UG) 2026 examination will now be re-conducted on fresh dates, which will be notified separately through official channels. The revised admit card schedule and other examination-related details will also be announced in the coming days
