NC’s District Vice President Imran Shah Seeks Omar Abdullah’s Intervention Over ARTO Office Relocation
NC District Vice President Imran Shah Denounces ARTO Office Relocation, Urges CM Omar Abdullah’s Intervention
Anantnag, Nov 6: (JKNN) National Conference District Vice President for Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, on Thursday strongly opposed the proposed shifting of the ARTO Office from Anantnag town, terming the move detrimental to the interests of the local population and the historic significance of the district headquarters.
Reacting to recent developments and statements made by certain legislators, Imran Shah said that relocating key offices from Anantnag town would adversely affect the livelihood of residents and dilute the town’s administrative and economic centrality.
“In the past, we have witnessed how the PDP government replaced the important TB Hospital with a car parking space and shifted the facility to Mattan, causing immense inconvenience to people from distant areas like Kokernag and Dooru–Verinag,” Shah remarked during an interaction with residents of Bakshi Colony Sherpora Bala.
He asserted that any attempt to undermine the central role of Anantnag town would be firmly resisted by the people.
Highlighting the availability of suitable land for the construction of the ARTO Office and trial ground at multiple sites within Anantnag, Shah urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to personally intervene to ensure the office remains in its rightful location.
During his visit, local residents also apprised him of various civic issues, particularly concerning drainage and electricity infrastructure, which he assured would be taken up with the concerned authorities for prompt redressal.
