Anantnag, August 03:: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, today said that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is witnessing a mass exodus of its cadre as people have become disillusioned with what he termed the party’s anti-people and anti-Jammu & Kashmir policies.
Addressing a well-attended public gathering at Bul-Bul Nowgam, Shah said that instead of introspecting over its past failures and apologizing to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the PDP leadership continues to indulge in political theatrics and arrogance. He said such conduct has exposed the party’s real political agenda, which, according to him, is driven by personal interests rather than public welfare.
Imran Shah stated that the growing discontent among PDP workers is the direct result of the party’s disconnect from the aspirations of the people. He said many party workers now feel ignored and politically suffocated, prompting them to leave the PDP and join the National Conference, which has consistently stood for the rights, aspirations, and welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Reaffirming the National Conference’s commitment to its promises, Shah said the party remains steadfast in its mission to restore the dignity, honour, and full statehood of Jammu and Kashmir while ensuring people-centric development and good governance.
On the occasion, several PDP workers joined the National Conference in Presence of NC Vice President Anantnag Imran Amin Shah. The new entrants included Faroq Ah Mir, M Rafiq Haji, M Ayouib Mir and others.
Welcoming the new members into the party fold, Shah expressed confidence that their induction would further strengthen the National Conference at the grassroots level. He urged them to work with dedication and unity to take the party’s vision, policies, and public welfare programmes to every village and every household across the region.
Later, Shah visited the flood-affected areas of Bul-Bul Nowgam to assess the damage caused by the recent floods. He interacted with affected families, reviewed the ground situation, and expressed solidarity with those who had suffered losses. Calling upon the administration to act with urgency, Shah demanded immediate relief, adequate compensation, and timely rehabilitation measures to ensure that all affected families receive the necessary assistance without delay.
