Imran Shah Reviews Civic Issues in Anantnag, Warns Against Misuse of Development Funds; Several PDP Leaders Join NC
No Room for Misuse of Public Funds Under Omar Abdullah’s Leadership; Imran Shah Strengthens NC’s Grassroots Outreach, Welcomes New Entrants into Party Fold
Anantnag, July 2: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and District vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, on Thursday reiterated that the National Conference has always placed the welfare of the people at the forefront and remains fully committed to fulfilling the promises made to the public during the elections.
Addressing a public interaction programme at Kawarigam, Shah reviewed several local issues, including the poor drainage system and the dilapidated condition of lanes and roads in the area. He said that despite developmental works being undertaken under the Rural Development Department (RDD), certain vested interests are allegedly attempting to misuse public funds instead of ensuring quality infrastructure development. He further alleged that such elements are operating in connivance with some officials of the department.
Imran Shah emphasized that there would be no tolerance for corruption or misappropriation of public resources under the leadership of Chief Minister Jenb Omar Abdullah sahib. He said that accountability, transparency and good governance remain the cornerstones of the present government and that every effort is being made to ensure that development funds are utilized solely for the benefit of the people.
“The government is committed to safeguarding public resources and ensuring that every developmental project is executed in a transparent and efficient manner. Any attempt to compromise public interest or misuse government funds will be dealt with strictly,” Shah said.
Later, several prominent workers from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), belonging to Bakalpora, Laminpora, Mukdam-Mohalla and Tumbripora, in Teelwani joined the National Conference. The names of the joining members include waseem Ah Shah, Subzar Ah Naiko, and Gulzar Ah Sheikh.
Welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, Imran Amin Shah said that their decision to join the National Conference reflects the growing confidence of the people in the party’s vision and leadership. He expressed confidence that their joining would further strengthen the party at the grassroots level and help expand its outreach among the people.
“The National Conference continues to attract people from all sections of society because of its commitment to public welfare, inclusive development and transparent governance,” Shah added.
Shah was accompanied by NC Block President Achabal Ab Salam Dar and other party functionaries.
