Doon School Srinagar Hosts Annual Cross-Country Run; SSP Traffic Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IPS) Graces Occasion, Joins High-Energy Marathon
SRINAGAR, April 25, 2026:
Doon School Srinagar on Saturday organized its annual cross-country run for students of Grades V to XII. The event, flagged off from the scenic Nishat area at the break of dawn, witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students.
The event was graced by SSP Traffic City Srinagar, Sh. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IPS), who attended as the Chief Guest, while DySP Suhail Hussain Reshi was the Guest of Honour. On the occasion, the dignitaries were formally felicitated by the Chairman of Doon School Srinagar, Mr. Showkat Hussain Khan, for their presence and continued support to the institution’s initiatives.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman Mr. Showkat Hussain Khan congratulated the students for their spirited participation. He emphasized the importance of physical endurance and discipline, noting that such events play a vital role in shaping the overall personality of students. He further remarked that the school remains committed to providing platforms that balance academic excellence with physical well-being.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Traffic Sh. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IPS) lauded the students for their energy and sportsmanship. He also appreciated the school management for its proactive approach toward co-curricular activities, stating that engaging youth in sports is essential for building a healthy society. The School Principal also praised the students for their enthusiasm and discipline.
The run concluded smoothly with the support of school transport and local authorities, followed by a formal vote of thanks.
