SSP Anantnag Reviews Security Arrangements for SANJY-2026 in Pahalgam Sector
Anantnag, June 14 (KNC): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure (IPS), on Saturday conducted a comprehensive review of security and pilgrim-facilitation arrangements in the Pahalgam sector ahead of the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026.
During the visit, the SSP inspected key Yatra locations, including the Frisking Point at Nunwan, Nunwan Base Camp and Sarbal Bridge. He also reviewed the ongoing repair and construction works of the Joint Police Control Room (JPCR) and assessed the installation and operational readiness of CCTV surveillance systems.
The review focused on strengthening overall security preparedness, ensuring effective access control, enhancing surveillance mechanisms and maintaining seamless coordination among all stakeholder agencies involved in the conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
SSP Nagpure directed officers to ensure the timely completion of all ongoing works and stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of alertness and preparedness to guarantee the safety, security and convenience of pilgrims undertaking the Yatra.
Reaffirming its commitment towards the successful conduct of the pilgrimage, Anantnag Police said comprehensive planning and proactive security measures are being put in place to ensure a safe, secure and hassle-free Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.(KNC)
