The issue came to light today when JK News Nation Chief Editor, who visited the shrine to offer Zohar Namaz, personally witnessed the appalling state of the washroom facilities.

The washrooms were found to be extremely dirty, foul-smelling, and unfit for use, posing a serious health risk to devotees and visitors.
Hazratbal Dargah, one of the most sacred religious sites in Kashmir, attracts thousands of worshippers daily.
However, the lack of cleanliness and proper sanitation facilities outside the shrine has left devotees distressed and disappointed.
Speaking to JKNN, the Chief Editor urged the concerned departments and shrine management to take immediate steps to clean and maintain the washrooms on a regular basis.
“This holy place is visited by thousands of people every day. Providing clean and hygienic washroom facilities is not just a civic responsibility but a matter of respect for the shrine and its devotees,” he said.
Local visitors also expressed their anger over the situation, stating that such negligence tarnishes the image of an important religious landmark and creates unnecessary discomfort for worshippers.
JK News Nation appeals to the authorities, and shrine management to take swift action and ensure proper sanitation, cleanliness, and regular maintenance of the washroom facilities at Hazratbal Dargah.
Failure to address the issue may lead to health hazards and continued public resentment.
