KPDCL Announces Major Power Shutdown Schedule Across Multiple Districts in kashmir on December 8, 9, 11 & 16

SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 06: (JKNN) The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has issued an extensive power shutdown schedule affecting several areas across Budgam, Baramulla, Anantnag, Pulwama and other parts of the Valley on multiple dates in December 2025. The shutdowns are aimed at carrying out system maintenance and upgradation works.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution KPDCL, the 33 KV Budgam SIDCO line and 33 KV Budgam Ichgam line will remain shut, resulting in power disruption to Budgam Town, Ompora, Housing Colony, Nasurallahpora, Jawalapora, Ichgam, Ichkoot, Choon, Kanir, Hushur, Zuhamma, Hanjoora, Substation NKC (Ring Road) and adjoining areas from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on December 08, 2025.
Similarly, shutdown of the 33 KV Ahmadpora–Magam line will affect power supply to Mazhama Old, Sanoora, Aripanthan, Magam, Weriahama, Budren and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 03:30 PM on December 08, 2025.
A major shutdown has also been scheduled for the 132 KV D/C IRCON–Budgam Transmission line, 33 KV Budgam feeder and 33 KV Ichgam–Budgam feeder, due to which Traction Substation Budgam (Railway), Budgam Town, Ompora, Housing Colony, Nasurallahpora, Jawalapora, Ichgam, Ichkoot, Choon, Kanir, Hushur, Zuhamma, Hanjoora, Substation NKC (Ring Road) and surrounding areas will face outage from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on December 08, 2025.
On December 09, 2025, shutdown of 33 KV Amargarh–Watergam line and 33 KV Sheeri Baramulla–1st line will cut power to Watergam, Hachipora, Hadipora, Safalpora, Ganapora, Kralgund, Khawajabagh, Kanthbagh, Ushkara, Sangri, Main Town Baramulla, Dewanbagh, Kanlibagh, Khanpora and adjoining areas from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM.
The 33 KV Wanpoh–SICOP line will also remain off on December 09, 2025, affecting Bijbehara, Shamsipora, Veeri, Nowbugh, Guree, Kanelwan, Srigufwara, Cheeniwooder and nearby localities from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM.
Additionally, shutdown of the 33 KV Sangam New Tap line will disrupt supply to Sangam, Bijbehara, Wapzan, Waghama, Khelan, Rakh, Batpora and surrounding areas from 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM on December 09, 2025.
The Dandipora Receiving Station will also remain off on December 08, 2025, resulting in outages in Larnoo, Vailoo, Dandipora and adjoining areas from 09:00 AM to 03:30 PM.
Further, shutdown of the 33 KV Khiram Tap line will hit Khiram, Mahind, Sirhama, Shalgul, Nowhara and surrounding areas from 09:30 AM to 03:30 PM on December 11, 2025.
In South Kashmir’s Pulwama and Shopian belts, shutdown of the 33 KV Lassipora–Landoora line and 33 KV Lassipora–Reshipora line will lead to disruption in Landoora, Watchi, Babapora, Momen, Hermain, Hajipora, Chakoora, Frisal, Zainapora, Chitragam, Rebban, Awnera, Sugan, Aglar, Nagbal, Turkwangam and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM on December 09, 13 and 16, 2025.
KPDCL has advised consumers to
accordingly and has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused, stating that these shutdowns are essential for strengthening the power infrastructure across the Valley.
