Comprehensive Physical Verification Launched of Vehicles and Dealer Records Across Shopian: Police
Srinagar, November 14(GNS): Police on Friday undertook a comprehensive physical verification drive across the district, focusing on vehicles and the records maintained by various car dealers in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
In a handout to GNS, the police said that the initiative aims to ensure transparency in vehicle transactions and prevent any potential misuse of vehicles.
During the drive, police teams physically inspected vehicles present at dealerships and examined documentation related to the sale, purchase and transfer of ownership. Special emphasis was laid on verifying authenticity of transaction records, ensuring timely transfer of ownership and identifying any discrepancies that could lead to unlawful use.
Car dealers have been advised to maintain complete, accurate and updated records of all vehicle transactions and to strictly adhere to statutory norms. Police teams also sensitised dealers about the importance of record maintenance in strengthening overall security mechanisms in the district.
The physical verification and scrutiny of records shall continue in the coming days as part of ongoing efforts to enhance monitoring, ensure compliance and safeguard public safety.
