No Regular Anesthetist, Radiologist, or Pathologist at SDH Dooru, Reveals Official Reply
Srinagar, Nov 1, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has acknowledged in the Legislative Assembly that several health institutions in the Dooru constituency of South Kashmir continue to suffer from a shortage of medical staff and essential diagnostic equipment.
In a written reply to a question by MLA Dooru, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, the Health and Medical Education Department confirmed that the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Dooru is functioning without regular specialists, including an Anesthetist, Radiologist, and Pathologist. The department also noted a shortfall of medical officers and paramedical staff in adjoining Primary Health Centres.
The government as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust, informed that recruitment to fill vacant positions is under process through the JKPSC and JKSSB, while temporary arrangements have been made by deploying staff from nearby hospitals. It further stated that funds from the Hospital Development Fund (HDF) are being utilized to upgrade emergency and diagnostic facilities in Dooru and the surrounding areas.
The department said proposals have been forwarded to the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir, for the procurement of advanced medical equipment and laboratory support to strengthen healthcare delivery in the constituency. [KNT]
