Two-Day Closure of Schools and Colleges in Kashmir Amid Protests, Says Sakina Itoo

Srinagar 01/03/2026 (JKNN) The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered all schools, colleges and universities across Kashmir to remain closed for two days as a precautionary measure amid ongoing protests following reports of the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Authorities said the situation is being monitored closely and a decision on reopening will be taken after assessment of ground conditions.
Education Minister Sakina Itoo said the decision was taken to ensure the safety of students amid protests reported in parts of the Valley.
She added that authorities are closely monitoring the situation and a decision regarding reopening of institutions will be taken after assessing the ground scenario.
