Scooty Rider Arrested with Heroin in Jammu City Operation

Jammu, April 25, KNT: Police in Jammu apprehended a suspected drug peddler during naka checking near the Jammu Municipal Corporation gate, recovering a heroin-like substance from his possession.
The accused, identified as Sunny, a resident of Mouli Complex, Mouli Majra, Chandigarh, presently staying at Malik Market Jammu, was intercepted while riding a scooty bearing registration number JK02CD/4577.
Police said the rider attempted to flee from the spot but was apprehended after sustained efforts by the naka party.
During questioning and subsequent personal search, approximately 11.71 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
A case under FIR No. 10/2026 has been registered at Police Station City Jammu under Sections 8, 21, 22, and 27 of the NDPS Act, and investigation has been initiated.
Officials said further probe is underway to establish forward and backward linkages related to the recovery. [KNT]
