Saim Ayub Suffers Ankle Fracture, Ruled Out of Cricket Leaves Pakistan Without Key Opener
Saim Ayub’s Injury Leaves Pakistan Without Key Opener
Pakistan opener Saim Ayub has been sidelined from competitive cricket for up to six weeks following a right ankle fracture. The injury occurred during fielding on the opening day of the second men’s cricket Test against South Africa at Newlands on Friday.
An MRI conducted on Friday afternoon confirmed the fracture, and Saim’s ankle has been immobilized using a medical moon boot for recovery.
While the 21-year-old will not play further in the ongoing Test match, he will remain with the team and return to Pakistan with the squad after the conclusion of the series.
Saim’s absence is a setback for Pakistan as they aim to level the series against a strong South African side.
