Rahul Navin Gets One-Year Extension as Enforcement Directorate Director
Tenure Extended Till August 13, 2027 or Until Further Orders, Whichever Is Earlier
NEW DELHI, AUG 10 (KNC): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a one-year extension in the tenure of Rahul Navin, IRS (IT:93074), as Director of the Directorate of Enforcement (ED).
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Rahul Navin’s tenure has been extended for a period of one year beyond August 13, 2026.
With the latest approval, Navin will continue as Director of Enforcement up to August 13, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The order, issued by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, stated that the extension also includes continuation in service beyond the date of his superannuation, which is July 31, 2027.
The decision was communicated to the Department of Revenue, with copies also forwarded to the Prime Minister’s Office and Cabinet Secretariat for information.
Rahul Navin, a senior officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax), has been heading the Enforcement Directorate, the central agency responsible for investigating cases related to money laundering and foreign exchange violations.
The extension will ensure continuity in the leadership of the Enforcement Directorate for another year, subject to the condition that his tenure will end on August 13, 2027, or upon further orders, whichever occurs earlier.(KNC)
