Srinagar, Nov 10 (KNC): A political row intensified after PDP leader and MLA Pulwama Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra questioned Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s statement in which he swore on the Holy Quran denying allegations of seeking an alliance with the BJP in 2024.
In a post on X, Parra, as per Kashmir News Corner — KNC, asked Omar Abdullah to similarly swear for events of 2014. “Sir, @OmarAbdullah now swear for 2014, that you never tried to ally with BJP. The truth your own friend Late Devinder Singh Rana had already revealed,” Parra wrote.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had earlier responded to LoP Sunil Sharma, who had challenged him to “swear on the Quran” that he did not approach the BJP seeking an understanding in 2024. Omar, replying on X, stated, “I swear on the Holy Quran that I didn’t seek an alliance with the BJP in 2024 for Statehood or for any other reason,” adding, “Unlike Sunil Sharma, I don’t tell lies for a living.”
Reacting sharply to Parra’s remarks, National Conference spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar accused the PDP leader of echoing BJP’s narrative. In a post on X, Dar wrote, “You are following @BJP4India really well. Sunil Sharma must be very happy with you.”
The NC spokesperson further challenged Parra to clarify the role of PDP legislators in the recent Rajya Sabha elections. “Why don’t you leave the Holy Quran out and keep your hand on your heart to swear that @jkpdp MLAs did not vote for BJP or deliberately cancel votes in the recent RS polls?” Dar said.
