NC’s Imran Shah Launches Fierce Attack on PDP; Questions BJP Alliance
NC’s Imran Shah Targets PDP, Alleges ‘Compromise for Power’; Several Leaders Join NC
Anantnag, April 26: (JKNN) Senior National Conference (NC) leader and District Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urging its leadership to introspect on its past actions before criticising others.

Shah questioned the PDP’s alliance with the BJP, alleging that it was formed for “family comforts and political adjustments.” He stated that the party had “compromised its conscience for power” and must be held accountable for its governance in Jammu and Kashmir.
He further called upon PDP President Mehbooba Mufti to clarify her position during her tenure, particularly regarding the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and the closure of Falah-e-Aam schools in 2016. Shah alleged that the period witnessed a “reign of terror,” marked by the use of pellet guns and the detention of thousands of youths. He also expressed concern over those who suffered injuries and long-term disabilities during that time.
Accusing the PDP of corruption and failing the youth, Shah said the party must explain allegations of job scams and administrative shortcomings. He added that the PDP leadership, now out of power, is “shedding crocodile tears” in an attempt to mislead the public and regain power for personal interests.
Shah made these remarks during a day-long visit to Umar Colony, Hardu-Toor village in the Central Anantnag constituency, where he reviewed ongoing developmental works and listened to public grievances.
He also thanked Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, RDD Minister Javid Ahmad Dar, and MLA Anantnag for their special consideration in developing Hardu-Toor into a modern village. He termed it a step forward towards restoring the age-old historical significance of these areas, which, he alleged, were neglected by the previous PDP regime despite having mandate and support, and instead indulged in loot and nepotism.
On the occasion, several PDP workers, including Ab Rehman Reshi, Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, Mohammad Altaf Shah, Peer Imam Din, Ghulam Hasan Dar, Bashir Ahmad Dar, and Ghulam Nabi Hajam, joined the National Conference and reposed faith in the party, citing its pro-people policies and decisions taken in the interest of the general public.
Shah was accompanied by NC Vice Block President Ghulam Mohammad Dar and Halqa President Toor M. Amin Shah.
