NC’s Imran Shah Highlights Power of Sports in Youth Development, Applauds Durbar Move Revival
NC Leader Imran Shah Urges Youth Engagement Through Sports; Welcomes Omar Abdullah’s Visionary Step on Durbar Move
Anantnag, Oct 19: (JKNN) Playing sports has a powerful impact on mental health, especially among youth who are going through challenging times. The positive effects of sports may even persist into adulthood, helping reduce the risk of depression, anxiety, and other mental health problems.
Senior NC leader and Vice District President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, emphasized these views during a sports function at Anzullah, where he distributed sports kits, uniforms, and a cricket mat to participating teams.
Imran Shah said that sports aim to unite youth by giving them the opportunity, motivation, and access to play — regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, or ability. “Sports are a vital subset of physical activity that can be particularly beneficial for both short- and long-term physical, mental, and social well-being in adults as well,” he added.
Highlighting the importance of infrastructure, Shah stressed that development is crucial for fostering stronger social connections. He urged the administration to widen the road from main chowk Anchidoora to Anzullah Shoonshipora, noting that the area suffers from severe congestion due to narrow road connectivity, resulting in frequent traffic jams.
Welcoming the recent historic decision on the resumption of the Durbar Move, Shah praised Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his efforts toward equitable development and for representing the aspirations of both Jammu and Kashmir regions. He said the move will help create a balance and ease governance across the Union Territory.
Expressing confidence in the National Conference’s leadership, Shah said the party would live up to the people’s expectations. “The NC government will fulfill all the promises made to the public during elections,” he affirmed.
