NC District Vice President Imran Amin Shah Detained Ahead of Peaceful Black Day Protest in Anantnag
Anantnag, August 5: National Conference (NC) District Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, was taken into police custody from his residence at Dialgam on Wednesday, ahead of a proposed peaceful protest to observe Black Day.
According to party representatives, Imran Amin Shah was scheduled to participate in a peaceful and democratic protest organized to mark the occasion. However, before he could reach the venue, he was detained by the police and prevented from joining the gathering.
Party leaders described the detention as an infringement on the democratic right to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression. They emphasized that the proposed protest was intended to be conducted peacefully and within the framework of law.
Reaffirming their commitment to democratic values, party representatives stated that the National Conference will continue to pursue peaceful and constitutional means of expressing the aspirations and concerns of the people. They also called upon the authorities to uphold democratic principles, respect civil liberties, and ensure that citizens are allowed to exercise their fundamental rights in a peaceful and lawful manner.
