Mirwaiz Kashmir Offers Condolences to Amir Wani, Commends His Courageous Pursuit of Justice and Equal Opportunity
Srinagar, June 13/ 2026: (JKNN) Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq today visited Bemina to offer condolences to Amir Wani on the demise of his father, Mohammad Yousuf Wani, who passed away recently after a prolonged illness.
The Mirwaiz expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for the maghfirah of the deceased.
Amir Wani, is well known in Kashmir’s literary and academic circles for his writings on philosophy, religion, literature and science. An Electrical Engineering graduate from NIT Srinagar, he has contributed to several publications and delivered lectures at various academic institutions in the region.
Mirwaiz also lauded Amir Wani’s perseverance and courage in the face of physical challenges and expressed support for his ongoing struggle for justice and equal opportunity.
Referring to the recent proceedings before the Central Administrative Tribunal concerning his recruitment as a Junior Engineer, the Mirwaiz appreciated his principled stand for the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities and hoped that justice would prevail.
The Tribunal had recently observed that disability cannot be a ground for exclusion and directed that a post be kept vacant pending further consideration of his case. Mirwaiz extended his full support to Amir in his fight for justice.
