Mehbooba Visits Family of Deceased Policeman, Flood-Hit Beerwah Market

Budgam, July 29, KNT: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday visited Lalpora in Beerwah to offer condolences to the family of police personnel Ashiq Hussain, who recently lost his life while on duty.
Accompanied by senior PDP leaders, Mehbooba met the bereaved family, expressed her sympathies and prayed for the departed soul. She conveyed her support to the family during their time of grief.
Later, the PDP president visited the flood-affected Beerwah market, where around 32 shops sustained damage following recent heavy rainfall and flooding.
Interacting with affected shopkeepers and traders, Mehbooba assessed the extent of the losses and listened to their grievances. She urged the administration to conduct an immediate assessment of the damage and provide adequate compensation and relief to those affected.
She also stressed the need for improved flood management measures and better drainage infrastructure to minimise the impact of such incidents in the future.
Local PDP leaders and residents accompanied Mehbooba during both visits, while traders expressed hope that their concerns would receive prompt attention from the authorities. [KNT]
