Man’s Body Recovered from Jhelum in Srinagar’s Basant Bagh
Srinagar, Apr 12 (KNC): The body of a man was recovered from river Jhelum in the Basant Bagh area of Gowkadal in Srinagar on Sunday evening, officials said.
An official told news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC) that following information about a body seen floating in the river, teams of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and River Police rushed to the spot and launched a retrieval operation.
He said the body was successfully fished out from the river by the SDRF’s Quick Response Team.
The deceased has been identified as Ayaz Ahmad, son of Gulzar Ahmad, a resident of Basant Bagh near Gowkadal in Srinagar.
After completion of necessary formalities, the body was handed over to locals, the official added. — (KNC)
