Man Killed After Being Hit by Hemgiri Express Train in Kathua

Srinagar, Aug 2 (JKNS): A 40-year-old man was killed after being hit by the Hemgiri Express near Chainpura, Chandwan in Kathua district on Sunday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as Satish Singh, son of Omkar Singh, a resident of Village Chandea, Tehsil Hiranagar, Kathua.
They said the incident occurred when the Hemgiri Express was travelling from Kathua towards Jammu. The man was struck by the train and sustained fatal injuries, resulting in his death on the spot.
Soon after receiving information, a team of the Government Railway Police (GRP) rushed to the spot, took custody of the body, and shifted it for medico-legal formalities.
Police have initiated legal proceedings, and further investigation into the incident is underway. (JKNS)
