Kashmir University Appoints Prof Bashir Ahmad Ganai as Dean Research
Srinagar, May 5, KNT: The University of Kashmir has appointed Prof Bashir Ahmad Ganai as Dean Research following the superannuation of Prof Mohd Sultan Bhat, with the order taking immediate effect.
According to an official order issued by the Administration Teaching Section, Prof Mohd Sultan Bhat of the Department of Geography and Disaster Management retired on April 30, 2026, after serving as Dean Research at the university.
Consequent to his retirement, Prof Bashir Ahmad Ganai, associated with the Centre of Research for Development (CORD), has been assigned the charge of Dean Research for a period of three years or until he attains the age of superannuation, whichever is earlier.
The order further states that Prof Ganai will also function as In-charge Dean of the College Development Council (DCDC) in addition to his existing responsibilities. This arrangement will continue until Prof Aneesa Shafi resumes her duties after availing leave.
The directive has been issued with the approval of the competent authority and has come into effect immediately. [KNT]
