Imran Shah Salutes July 13 Martyrs, Seeks Urgent Restoration of Flood-Damaged Infrastructure
Anantnag, July 13: Senior National Conference leader and Vice District President, Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, paid rich tributes to the martyrs of July 13, 1931, stating that their unparalleled sacrifices against oppression and authoritarian rule laid the foundation for democratic values, justice, and the protection of the rights of the people in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that the people of Kashmir continue to honour and remember the martyrs with profound respect, describing July 13 as a historic milestone that remains a lasting source of inspiration in the collective pursuit of justice, democracy, and the restoration of statehood.
Imran Shah made these remarks during a day-long tour of the Issoo, Nunwani, and Teilwani areas of Anantnag, where he assessed the damage caused by the recent flash floods. He expressed serious concern over the extensive destruction to local nallahs, riverbanks, embankments, and adjoining agricultural land, which has severely affected the livelihoods of farmers and residents.
Calling for immediate intervention by the administration, Shah urged the concerned departments to undertake the prompt restoration and strengthening of damaged riverbanks and breached embankments to safeguard vulnerable areas from future flood-like situations. He also appealed to the government to provide adequate compensation and all necessary assistance to the affected farmers and families to help them recover from their losses at the earliest.
Reaffirming the National Conference’s unwavering commitment to public welfare, Shah assured the affected residents that he would continue to vigorously pursue their concerns with the appropriate authorities until timely relief, adequate compensation, and long-term flood protection measures are ensured.
