Shah lauds Govt’s Reservation Initiative; Calls for Concrete Solution for Daily Wagers
Anantnag, Dec 6: (JKNN) Reaffirming the National Conference’s commitment to the holistic development of the Anantnag Central Segment and restoring its “pristine glory,” senior NC leader and District vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, criticized the previous PDP regime for failing to fulfill its promises and for the current challenges faced by the district and the wider region.
Shah accused the PDP leadership of “looting resources” and engaging in “mass corruption,” alleging that the party’s idea of self-rule was restricted to benefiting their “family and friends.” He said the general public was made a scapegoat through hollow slogans and exaggerated claims.
He said that despite ruling for more than two decades, Anantnag district still lacks basic amenities, and leaders who were rejected by the people are now returning with rhetoric aimed at misleading the public. He added that the NC would “strongly oppose such tactics” and respond with good governance.
Shah was speaking at a function where Tariq Ahmad Dar, Deh President PDP from Doni Chek Anzvola, along with a dozen workers, joined the National Conference.
He assured the locals that the long-pending macadamization and widening of the Doni Chek–Anzulla and Anchidoora roads would soon be addressed. He also urged the government to begin construction of a Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Anzulla to serve the area’s large population.
While welcoming the government’s recent decision on the reservation issue, Shah expressed hope that a concrete and lasting solution for daily wagers would also be announced soon.
