Global Kashmiri Pandit Heritage Tour Delegation Visits Ishwar Ashram in Srinagar
Ashram Showcases Kashmir’s Spiritual, Cultural and Intellectual Legacy to Diaspora Members
SRINAGAR, June 7 (KNC): The Ishwar Ashram Trust on Saturday hosted delegates of the Global Kashmiri Pandit Heritage Tour and Conclave at its main Ashram in Srinagar, in a significant initiative aimed at reconnecting members of the global Kashmiri Pandit diaspora with their ancestral roots, cultural heritage and spiritual traditions.
According to a statement issued here, the visit was organised to provide delegates with a comprehensive understanding of the spiritual philosophy, cultural values and historical legacy preserved by the Ashram over the years.
The programme began with a traditional Pooja at the main sanctuary, creating a spiritually enriching atmosphere for the visiting delegation. The participants later attended a special educational session addressed by Pran Nath Koul, who delivered an insightful lecture on Kashmir’s rich philosophical traditions and spiritual heritage.
As part of the visit, Vijay Kumar Koul conducted a guided tour of the Ashram complex, highlighting its historical evolution, architectural significance and continued contribution towards spiritual learning and cultural preservation.
The delegates also visited the Ashram’s publication and book division, where they explored a vast collection of scriptures, historical literature, rare manuscripts and philosophical works reflecting Kashmir’s rich intellectual and spiritual traditions.
Representatives of the Ishwar Ashram Trust said the visiting members expressed deep appreciation for the institution’s efforts in preserving and promoting Kashmir’s unique heritage. Several delegates described the experience as emotionally moving, culturally enriching and spiritually inspiring.
The Trust stated that the successful hosting of the international delegation reaffirms the Ashram’s commitment to serving as a global centre for the preservation and promotion of Kashmiri heritage, literature, philosophy and spiritual consciousness.
The event concluded with an interactive session over traditional Tea Prasad, during which delegates engaged with the Ashram’s administrators, scholars and Trust members and shared their experiences and reflections.
The Ishwar Ashram Trust continues to work towards preserving and disseminating Kashmir’s spiritual, philosophical and cultural heritage through its educational programmes, publications and outreach initiatives, connecting scholars, seekers and diaspora members across the world with the timeless traditions of Kashmir, the statement added.(KNC)
