Deadly Lightning Strike Claims 60 Sheep, Buffalo, Dog Killed in Lightning Strike in Poonch’s Dhoke Surankote

Poonch July 14(GNS):A lightning strike in the early hours of Monday killed dozens of livestock and injured three members of a family in Dhoke Kalkhata, Ranjati area of Surankote in Poonch district.
Officials told GNS that the incident occurred today, in the higher reaches of Dhandidhara. Shoket Hussain, son of Murad Baksh and resident of Dhandidhara, A/P Dhoke Kalkhata, Ranjati, suffered heavy losses after lightning struck his animal shed.
In the strike, 60 sheep, one buffalo and one dog died on the spot. Three family members also sustained injuries in the incident. They were provided first aid by the Indian Army.
No loss of human life has been reported.
The administration has been informed and an assessment of the damages is underway.(GNS)
