BJP Says Abrogation of Articles 370, 35A Ensured Equal Constitutional Rights, Accelerated Development in J&K

Srinagar, July 7 (KNC): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir In-Charge Nitin Nabin on Tuesday said that the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A in August 2019 ensured equal constitutional rights for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and laid the foundation for a new era of development, democratic governance and social justice in the Union Territory.
Addressing party workers during his visit, Nabin said the decision taken by the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi removed what he described as decades of constitutional and political discrimination, enabling the people of Jammu and Kashmir to enjoy the same legal safeguards and constitutional rights available to citizens across the country.
He stated that the historic constitutional changes opened new avenues for inclusive development, transparent administration and stronger democratic institutions, while creating equal opportunities for every section of society. He said that following the 2019 decision, several flagship welfare schemes and development programmes of the Central Government have been successfully implemented across Jammu and Kashmir, benefiting youth, women, farmers, economically weaker sections and other deserving beneficiaries.
Highlighting the progress made in the Union Territory over the past few years, Nabin said Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed substantial improvements in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, public services and investment. He maintained that the government’s vision remains focused on ensuring lasting peace, stability and sustainable economic growth across the region.
The BJP leader also called upon party workers to intensify their outreach at the grassroots level and spread awareness among the public about various welfare initiatives and developmental projects launched by the Central Government. He urged them to strengthen public participation and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the full benefits of government schemes.
Expressing confidence in the future of Jammu and Kashmir, Nitin Nabin reiterated the BJP’s commitment to accelerating development, empowering citizens and ensuring that the benefits of governance and welfare programmes reach every household across the Union Territory. (KNC)
