Bear Cub Rescued Near GDC Uri, To Be Released in Wildlife Sanctuary
Joint Operation by Wildlife Department, Police Ensures Safe Capture; Public Urged to Stay Alert

Srinagar, June 25 (GNS): A bear cub was safely captured in Uri town near Government Degree College on Thursday in a joint operation by the Wildlife Department and police.
A wildlife official told GNS that the department was alerted by police about the cub’s presence in the area. A team responded promptly and rescued the animal without causing any harm.
“The bear cub was rescued successfully without any harm,” the official said. It will be released in a suitable wildlife sanctuary after completion of necessary procedures.
The official urged residents to remain alert and immediately inform the Wildlife Department if they spot wild animals in residential areas.
Officials said the operation was carried out smoothly with the cooperation of local people and police personnel.(GNS)
