ARTO Baramulla Conducts Special Enforcement Drive, ₹92,000 Fine Imposed

Baramulla, Dec 31 (GNS): The Assistant Regional Transport Officer Baramulla, Mudasir Ahmad JKAS, in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Police, conducted a special enforcement drive on the National Highway at Sangrama on Wednesday.
During the drive, over 500 vehicles were checked. Several vehicles were e challaned for various traffic violations, resulting in the imposition of fines amounting to ₹92,000.
Officials told GNS that eight vehicles were blacklisted for serious offences, while 14 notices were issued for suspension of driving licences due to repeated and grave traffic violations.
ARTO Baramulla said the drive was conducted on the directions of the Transport Commissioner Jammu and Kashmir to ensure strict enforcement of traffic laws and to curb violations in the district.
He appealed to motorists to follow traffic rules voluntarily, stating that regulations are aimed at preventing road accidents and ensuring public safety. He added that such enforcement drives will continue in the future to promote disciplined and safe driving. (GNS)
