Article 370: Apex Court To Deliver Verdict on December 11

Srinagar, Dec 7 (KS): The Supreme Court is set to deliver the verdict regarding petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370, on December 11, 2023.
The Constitution bench of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and comprising Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Sanjiv Khanna, BR Gavai, and Surya Kant, had reserved the judgement in the matter on 5 September 2023 after hearing it on a day-to-day traill for sixteen days.
The judgement as per the Cause list, a copy of which lies with news agency Kashmir Scroll, is at Serial Number 1501 in Case Number W.P.(C) Number 1099/2019 (PIL-W).
Notably, the petition challenges the Union Government’s 2019 decision to repeal the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and also the J&K Reorganization Act which bifurcated the State into the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh. (KS)
