NC Leader Imran Shah Hails CM Omar Abdullah’s Development Push, Says PDP Workers Joining Reflects Growing Faith in NC
Anantnag, September, 01: National Conference (NC) senior Leader and Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah today welcomed the decision of half a dozen prominent workers associated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Achidora, Tantray-Check to join the National Conference, describing it as a reflection of the growing public confidence in the leadership and policies of the party.
Addressing a workers meeting at Tantray-Check, Achidora, today, Shah said that the decision of prominent political workers to join the National Conference demonstrates their faith in the leadership of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and their belief that the NC remains committed to safeguarding the interests and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Imran Shah particularly hailed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for prioritising development and directing the administration to ensure that government announcements are translated into tangible projects and benefits on the ground.
He said that the Chief Minister’s recent review of the implementation of the 2026–27 Budget announcements, along with his directions to accelerate capital expenditure and ensure timely utilisation of development funds, reflects a clear focus on execution rather than mere announcements.
“Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has made it clear that development funds cannot remain unutilised and that departments must ensure timely execution of projects. This approach is essential for accelerating infrastructure development, improving public services and creating tangible benefits for people across Jammu and Kashmir,” Shah said.
He also referred to the Chief Minister’s recent extensive inspection of development projects across Srinagar, where Omar Abdullah reviewed major works relating to road connectivity, traffic decongestion, healthcare, heritage conservation and urban infrastructure. Among the projects reviewed were the Parimpora and Shalteng flyovers, the 250-bedded IPD Block at SKIMS Medical College Bemina, the proposed multi-span bridge at Barbar Shah and various underpasses and traffic-management projects.
Shah said that the Government’s development agenda extends beyond Srinagar and encompasses rural connectivity, healthcare, drinking water, roads, urban infrastructure, power and tourism.
He welcomed the Government’s focus on accelerating road construction under PMGSY-IV, macadamisation and black-topping of roads, expansion of healthcare infrastructure and strengthening of water and irrigation facilities.
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir want development, employment, better roads, reliable power, improved healthcare and quality public services. The Omar Abdullah Government is working towards addressing these priorities through a combination of infrastructure investment, better utilisation of funds and stronger monitoring of projects,” he said.
The newly joined PDP workers from Achidora Tantray-Check said that they have reposed their full faith and confidence in the leadership of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, particularly at a crucial juncture when the interests and aspirations of the people require strong, responsible and visionary leadership.
They expressed their commitment to strengthening the National Conference at the grassroots level and working for the welfare and development of the people.
Imran Shah welcomed the new members and assured them that their contribution would strengthen the party’s organisational base and its efforts to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
