Jammu-Srinagar NH-44 Closed From Both Ends Due to Heavy Rain, Shooting Stones
Commuters Advised To Avoid Travel Till Weather Improves
Jammu, July 22 (GNS): Vehicular movement on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) has been stopped from both ends on Wednesday morning following heavy rainfall across the highway and multiple incidents of shooting stones and mudslides.
Officials told GNS that the continuous rains have triggered debris and slides at several places along NH-44, forcing authorities to halt traffic as a precautionary measure.
Commuters have been advised not to undertake any journey on the highway until the weather improves and the road is declared safe for traffic.
For the latest updates, people have been asked to check the status of the road on the traffic police Twitter handle, Facebook page, and Traffic Control Units.
