Dr. Nazir Hussain Extends National Doctors’ Day Greetings to the Medical Fraternity

On the occasion of National Doctors’ Day, Dr. Nazir Hussain, Medical Officer and General Secretary of the NHM Employees Association, Jammu & Kashmir UT, extended his heartfelt greetings and congratulations to all doctors for their selfless service, dedication, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of society.
In his message, Dr. Nazir Hussain said that doctors are the backbone of the healthcare system and have always stood at the forefront in serving humanity, especially during health emergencies and challenging times. He praised their tireless efforts, compassion, and professionalism in providing quality healthcare to people across urban and remote areas.
He stated that National Doctors’ Day is an opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable contributions made by doctors in saving lives and promoting public health. Their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment inspire confidence and hope among patients and communities alike.
Dr. Nazir Hussain also appreciated the services rendered by NHM doctors and healthcare professionals working across Jammu & Kashmir, particularly those serving in difficult and far-flung regions under challenging conditions. He emphasized that their contributions have significantly strengthened the healthcare delivery system in the Union Territory.
Highlighting the significance of the day, he said that July 1 is observed as National Doctors’ Day in India to honour Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, one of the country’s most distinguished physicians, an eminent educationist, freedom fighter, and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal. Born on 1 July 1882 and passing away on the same date in 1962, Dr. Roy dedicated his life to advancing healthcare and public service. Since 1991, National Doctors’ Day has been observed across India to recognize the invaluable contributions of doctors and to celebrate their compassion, dedication, resilience, and commitment to patient care.
Dr. Nazir Hussain wished all doctors good health, happiness, professional success, and continued strength in their noble mission of serving humanity. He also urged the public to respect and support doctors and all healthcare workers for their relentless efforts in ensuring quality healthcare and building a healthier nation.
