Chief Election Commissioner Arrives in Kashmir, To Interact With Booth Level Officers
Srinagar, June 28, KNT: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar arrived in Kashmir on an official visit during which he is scheduled to interact with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in Budgam and review various aspects of the electoral process.
Speaking to reporters after his arrival, the Chief Election Commissioner said the visit would focus on interactions with voters and Booth Level Officers, whom he described as the cornerstone of the Election Commission.
“We will be interacting with voters across the beautiful valleys of Jammu and Kashmir, and specifically with the Booth Level Officers in Budgam, who serve as the cornerstone of the Election Commission,” he said.
The CEC also extended greetings to the voters of Jammu and Kashmir and appreciated the region’s scenic beauty.
“After these interactions, we will also enjoy the magnificent scenery of Kashmir,” he remarked.
Official sources said the visit is aimed at strengthening voter outreach and reviewing grassroots-level electoral preparedness through direct interaction with election functionaries.
The Booth Level Officers play a key role in maintaining electoral rolls, facilitating voter registration and ensuring smooth conduct of elections at the grassroots level. [KNT]
