Fire Erupts in Chinar Tree in Pulwama’s Tral, Miscreants Suspected

Tral, Dec 17, KNT: A Chinar tree caught fire under mysterious circumstances in the Pirnard area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday, triggering concern among locals and raising suspicion of mischief.
Locals said they noticed flames and smoke emanating from the base of the Chinar tree and immediately gathered at the spot. Preliminary indications, according to locals, suggest that the fire may have been deliberately set, though the exact cause is yet to be officially ascertained.
The incident has caused distress among inhabitants of the area, as Chinar trees hold ecological, cultural, and heritage significance in Kashmir. Locals expressed apprehension that such acts, if left unchecked, could pose a serious threat to the region’s natural heritage.
