Budgam Accident: Administration Announces Ex-Gratia Relief

Budgam, Nov 16, KNT: The District Administration Budgam has sanctioned ex-gratia relief for the victims of the fatal Waterwani–Mahawara road accident in which a Sumo and a dumper collided, resulting in the death of four persons and injuries to six others.
Officials said the injured are receiving treatment at different hospitals in Srinagar and Budgam. Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Dr Bilal Mohi Ud Din Bhat, the administration approved relief of ₹6 lakh each for the next of kin of the deceased and ₹1 lakh each for those injured.
The District Administration expressed grief over the loss of lives and conveyed condolences to the affected families. The Deputy Commissioner assured that necessary support will be extended to the families during this difficult period.
Police Station Budgam has registered an FIR and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the collision. The administration appealed to commuters to strictly follow traffic advisories and road safety guidelines to avoid such incidents. [KNT]
