Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty jointly flagged off the Kashmir Marathon 2.0 – 2025 in Srinagar on Sunday, marking a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, peace, and unity.

Srinagar, Nov 2 (JKNN): Thousands of enthusiastic runners from across Jammu and Kashmir and other parts of the country participated in the annual Kashmir Marathon in Srinagar on Sunday.
The event, organized to promote peace, unity, and physical fitness, began early morning from the iconic Dal Lake boulevard and witnessed participation from athletes, students, defence personnel, and civilians alike.
Prticipation over 1,500 runners representing 27 states and 11 countries, including Germany, Denmark, USA, Ethiopia, Kenya, Japan and Sri Lanka among others.
The marathon featured multiple categories, The second edition of the marathon comprises two race categories: a 42-kilometer full marathon and a 21-kilometer half-marathon.
Chief Minister also unveiled Kashmir Marathon–2025 merchandise at Royal Springs Golf Course. The merchandise includes a cap, medal and racing kit. On the occasion the Chief Minister invited all fitness enthusiasts to test their endurance and join the 2nd edition of Kashmir Marathon.

Spectators lined up along the route cheering for participants as they passed through the scenic backdrop of the Zabarwan Hills.
Officials said the event not only highlighted the spirit of sportsmanship among the youth but also aimed to send a message of harmony and resilience from the Valley to the rest of the world.
