Students across schools in Kashmir will leave their school bags at home and engage in educational and recreational activities that highlight the dangers of tobacco consumption and promote a healthier lifestyle.
This initiative aims to combine learning with fun, fostering a supportive environment for discussing important health issues among the youth.Educational institutions will organize various programs, including workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions, to educate students about the risks associated with tobacco use. The day will also feature sports and creative activities to emphasize the importance of maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle free from tobacco.
The decision underscores the commitment of the School Education Department to not only enhance academic learning but also to promote the overall well-being of students.
By integrating this health awareness campaign into the school calendar, the department hopes to instill lifelong healthy habits in the young generation.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to curb tobacco use and its adverse effects on public health in the region. World No Tobacco Day, observed globally on May 31, serves as a reminder of the critical need to address the tobacco epidemic and protect future generations from its dangers.
