Protest in Rainawari as Residents Block Road Near JLNM Hospital Over Month-Long Water Shortage

Srinagar, September 16, 2023 Residents of Rainawari, Srinagar, took to the streets on Saturday to protest against the Jal Shakti department’s failure to provide them with water for an entire month.

The protest, primarily led by women, saw them gather and block the main road near JLNM Hospital, causing traffic to come to a standstill.

Expressing their grievances to JKNEWS NATION (JKNN) , the protesting women revealed their month-long struggle without water supply, with no authorities paying heed to their plight.

“We have reached out to the authorities on numerous occasions, but no action has been taken, and it feels like we are being passed from one department to another,” the distressed residents alleged while making a heartfelt appeal to the concerned authorities to urgently address this issue.
