Srinagar, May 18, 2024 –(JKNN) A massive fire broke out today in a residential houses located in the densely populated area of Hawal Wantpora, Srinagar.

The blaze, which started in the early afternoon, quickly spread throughout the houses, causing widespread panic among the local residents.

The two houses belong to Mohammad Maqbool sheikh son in law of Ab Rahman sheikh and Ab Rahman Mir son of Dilbar Mir resident of Wantpora

Video footage captured by local Arshid Bhat, and shared by JKNEWS NATION, reveals the extent of the inferno, with towering flames and thick plumes of smoke billowing into the sky. The intensity of the fire has made it visible from a considerable distance, drawing the attention of many in the community.Fire services were promptly dispatched to the scene and are currently working alongside local volunteers to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjacent buildings. The efforts are being hampered by the narrow lanes and congested nature of the area, which pose significant challenges for the firefighting teams

Residents have been evacuated from the immediate vicinity as a precautionary measure, and authorities are urging people to stay away from the area to allow emergency services to carry out their work unimpeded.The cause of the fire has yet to be determined,
